Re: Craft Corner

Hiya everyone

@Serenity1 so good to hear your daughter enjoys art. My kids are pretty arty and crafty and enjoy it also. It's such a great outlet 😊 My thing is crochet but I am very happy playing around with any crafty stuff. As @Gazza75 said, uploading pics is done with the camera/photo icon. If you use mobile you'll need to click on "reply" rather than "quick reply" to see it. I also have to take screenshots of my pics and upload them as the image is too big unless it's a screenshot. Would love to see anything you'd like to share sometime 🙂

@Judi9877 your bear is lovely ❤ I think knitting is so clever. I can't work out the two stick thing and think I'm too uncoordinated for it. Making more for charity is a lovely idea. When one of my kids were little they were given a handmade bear in emergency when they were sick. It was very comforting for them.

@Gazza75 your frog is super cool. Looking forward to seeing the latest pic when it loads. Wonder if our @frog would enjoy seeing it 🐸💚 How long has this one taken you? Are you still enjoying it?

I've done nothing creative for a few days now and am missing it. I have a social worker at the moment who is encouraging me to get out and join a local art/craft group. I'm not totally keen but I am warming up to the idea. I'd love to get a stone mold so I can do some more dots on smooth surfaces 🤔 I've also been pinning some crochet things to do and feel like I'm ready to pull that out again soon. We'll see what, if anything, comes 🙂

Hope there's some good in the day for all.

Re: Craft Corner

Hey @CheerBear  🙂

This one took a week or two.  I got a lot done over the weekend as I had quite a few hours without being distracted.  It's about twice the size as the butterfly, nearly 7500 drills or bitz, 26 colours.

Think I'm getting a little quicker at doing them, i'm not in a rush just finding ways to do things more efficiently.  The ones I've done so far are 'partials' I've just started a 'full' one.  Not sure it's going to  be as nice as I hoped as it might be to small to show all the detail.  Also the canvas is quite diffucult to read compared to the ones I've done.

I'm definitely still enjoying it.  It's my own way of dotting 😉

Concrete and round containers might work alright for molds.  I used to make bird feeders that way.    Should be fairly cheap although its a bit messy 🙂  You can also make it 'lighter' by adding syrofoam balls.

@Judi9877, I really liked your knitting as well.  I thought the face was great 🙂  Very cute 🙂

Speaking of crochet, I’m learning a new stitch - corner to corner crochet using double or triple chains. C2C makes it possible to make images, a bit like pixels. This image is going to be the logo for my gf’s climate action group. It’s a bit of a test to see how the whole thing works. Often i don’t finish the things i start making, so this is also a challenge to myself to finish it, to keep goi g whatever my mood, and to learn from my mistakes. I’m enjoying everyone’s posts. Hope you all have a good day today.

Re: Craft Corner

@Gazza75 The colours are so bright and intricate!

Re: Craft Corner

That looks fabulous @Lyra_reachout! I found c2c so fiddly and tricky when I started using more than 1 colour. It looks like you've found a great way to keep the yarn tidy and to stop it from getting tangled. Love the big, bold colours too 🙂

Thanks @CheerBear!
