Re: D.I.D.

This one's going to need surgical work again. 😞 At the moment, she's still in the local hospital, but they haven't got a specialist surgeon available there, so they're trying to get a bed for her in another hospital about an hour and a half away from here.

We were going to be seeing the MHU psychiatrist this morning, but he's had to cancel the appointment due to illness. Frustrating, because we've been waiting a long time to see him, but maybe for the best given the current uncertain arrangements.

Re: D.I.D.

So sorry to hear that @Smc so hard...

Will be praying for you and family.

Re: D.I.D.

So after a lot of chasing around by the nurses at our local hospital, they finally found somewhere that could get Older Daughter in for repair surgery. 200 kms away.

We left home 7:30 ish, picked up Daughter and drove... She went in about 3:30, so dependig on how complex it's been, we're hoping she'll be out soon.

And very much hoping she'll quickly recover enough for us to head home. Younger Son is having a 21st Birthday celebration tomorrow. Family and close friends for a lunch. The events of the past two days mean I haven't been able to make a cake as planned. 😞 I have put together a photo album... so that's something anyway. His friends will have fun seeing those.
So it's unlikely Older Daughter will be able to be there. We're hoping she might make it to the pre-lunch cuppa.

Again we're in that weird spot of trying to manage a crisis while also preparing for a family celebration. yeep....

Trust that all goes well @Smc

Re: D.I.D.

Thanks all. @Appleblossom , that's a really good reminder. 🙂

All was successful, but she'll take a while to heal. Her arm's in a cast for about 6 weeks. She'd done more extensive damage this time, so they needed a specialist surgeon of a kind not available locally. He came in on his day off to see to her... wow.

We got home about midnight last night, so am currently scrambling to get to the birthday celebrations! Daughter's hoping to get to the morning tea part of it, but she won't stay for the lunch.

Re: D.I.D.

Home... heating up pies for an easy dinner. Day went well but ooh we're tired!

As expected, Older Daughter got to our morning cuppa but not the lunch. Hubby's Dad was at both, but his Mum wasn't well enough, so after the lunchtime party our family (except Older Daughter) headed to the hotel they're staying at for catch up time, which was nice in itself. So everyone was part of it to one degree or another.

I bought a bunch of cupcakes and did some simple "in theme" touches as a "birthday cake". Not as nice as homemade, but had enough of a touch of fun to do the job. Y'do what you can...

Briefly caught up with Older Daughter when we dropped off Older Son at their place. The anaesthetic's out of her system, so she's tired but not so groggy anymore.

hope you will be able to get some much needed sleep
