Re: Icebreakers time!

@rav3n just jumping in on this a few days later 🤭

As much as I absolutely adore animals, I honestly think it'd be incredible to be able to speak any human language in the world.

Because of my current studies in Mental Health and AOD, I'd use that ability to communicate, advocate and support those whose are Culturally & Linguistically Diverse in the community.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@ALotGoingOnMum Hi 👋🏼 tell us a bit about yourself.

I experienced Parental Burn out raising three children on my own.

It was considered normal back then. It felt far from normal at the time.

Fortunately it lead to a ADHD diagnosis and medication helped me a lot.

That was over 20 years ago.

Re: Icebreakers time!

hey @ALotGoingOnMum welcome!!

@MatchaToad how amazing would that be!! love your response 💙

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Glisten @Shaz51 I’m 43 with 2 kids under 5, going through all the fun hormonal stuff, PMDD, ADHD etc etc. feeling lonely as I’ve really reevaluated friendships and been unable to maintain superficial ones. Especially since my ADHD diagnosis. I really wish I had a ‘ride or die’ friend that lived close and fit well with this stage of my life.
We’ve no family support. I’ve had to go no contact with my parents.
I'm about to change jobs and I’m terrified.
It's just a lot.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@ALotGoingOnMum i find job changes overwhelming too. anything new can be scary to jump into, and i imagine it's harder when you have children to look after. so proud of you for reaching out here and pushing on, that must take a lot of strength.

i hope our forums community can provide you with friendships and connections 💙

our Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2 thread is a great place to pop by and chat in whenever you'd like.

Re: Icebreakers time!

Lovely to meet you @ALotGoingOnMum 🥰.

Definitely sounds a lot going on, true to your name! 2 kids under 5 and working, plus no family support to help out. Thats full on I bet.

Nervousness and anxiety about changing jobs is quite understandable. Happy to chat to you about it if that helps you process and reassure yourself that even though there will be changes, you will be OK and adjust again.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@AlwaysMyself That is so kind thank you. How do you go about having a chat with someone in more depth on here (newbie status!)

Re: Icebreakers time!

There's no "right" or "wrong" way, but I can recommend starting a new thread as a great way to setup a topic-specific chat @ALotGoingOnMum 😊. And of course tagging us will let us know so we find it too 😁.
