Re: Icebreakers time!

  • Okay, as iv had the fortune to live in a complex with people who have had none of how I was brought up ide talk to everyone. . .

ide probably show my friends up by talking to everyone.
however, as I don’t really do much, ide probably machine stitch embroider a poem  I wrote a long time ago on quilts. In different languages.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Bunniekins , @MissGremlin and I had a conversation earlier. I said how unpredictable people are.

Animals have an honesty. Whether it’s territorial, food, social hierarchy.
“You’ve brushed my tail enough. Do it again and I will bite or kick, you.”  - It’s not mean, just honest.

If you don’t observe the signs, you get bitten or kicked. So you learn their language.

I find most people very difficult to understand 🤦🏼‍♀️

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Glisten we could indeed. Add to the Shetlands - Ireland, Scotland, Norway (hail the Vikings!)

I am a descendant of the Kings of Ireland. But then that covers half the population I think. Them Catholics like to multiply. My dad was one of 5, a small family really.

Maybe we're cousins 4 times removed?

Re: Icebreakers time!

@PeppyPatti I love the idea of you stitching your poem on quilts in different languages!

Re: Icebreakers time!

It may be. Murder mittens has struck again.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Glisten Mac and Lenny have taught you well.

MM's eyes go from blue to orange when he is peeved. He gives this look of "don't touch me human" and I know to either feed him Krack or leave him alone.

I love my cat all the time. I don't love people all the time.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@ENKELI  defs cousins somehow.

I don’t there is any royalties of any kind in any of my ancestors.

A couple of ship captains with the East India Company.
A lot of them just rushing about trying to avoid starvation, war or syphilis 😵🤭

Re: Icebreakers time!

@ENKELI  Mac and Lenny have taught me so much.

The wildlife as well. Seeing bird of prey doing their thing.

Wednesday - A Kestrel flew into the Hay Shed like an F16. Grabbed a meal while conducting a U-turn. Straight back out with lunch in hand.

People - it’s weird when a species is its own apex predator.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@Glisten the "royalty" is from the 1300's so unlikely I'll be called princess if I ever go to Ireland! The history is fascinating though, involving fights and cutting off of hands to claim land.
On mums' side one of my relatives jumped ship in Broome and became a pearler. Then there was another one (mum has a photo of him with the horse) who named a town after his horse, Hardy Norseman. Maybe that's why I like gold and horses.

Re: Icebreakers time!

@PeppyPatti  I agree with @ENKELI about a poem quilt 💚
