Health anxiety (hypochondria) sucks
So from the time I was about 18 I started worrying about getting cancer of the throat or lung cancer because I smoked . I went to numerous doctors and specialists and got that I had anxiety mostly related to my health I went through this for around 6 years until finally I started exercising, eating healthier loosing weight, stopped smoking and felt all round better . I got engaged later in the year and found out that at this time I would have been pregnant I didn’t find out until I was 11 weeks . I had a good pregnancy and then when I was around 38 weeks I started feeling anxious that there was something wrong with the baby as I wasn’t feeling her move much . Toward the end of my pregnancy I started getting sick when I ate some things . At 41+ weeks I went to the doc and got a stretch and sweep. That night I ate takeaway for dinner and thought I went into labour at 1130- i was in so much pain immediately got to the hospital and was so sick they told me to rest as I was due to be induced at 7am . I got induced and a short time later they lost my babies heart beat I was rushed to theatre put to sleep and woke with a perfectly healthy baby girl. Everything was perfect. I got home and about a month later started feeling sick vomiting . I kept going to the doctors and they kept saying there wasn’t anything wrong . I ended up after a few months getting an ultrasound of my gallbladder and turned out had gallstones and an infection. I ended up at the hospital a number of times to be given pain killers and sent home from Jan-April then in April I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis it was a pain unbearable . I was in hospital for around 2 weeks . I ended up getting sick again from my gallbladder again about 3 weeks later and ended up in the hospital and getting my gallbladder out . Since then I have been suffering with pain in my back and shoulders and numerous other “symptoms” I have been back and forth to numerous doctors and am totally 100% convinced I have pancreatic cancer or chronic pancreatitis . I have had bloods and an abdominal ultrasound numerous physical examinations and they have all said (6 doctors ) that I don’t have anything wrong with me . My daughter is now 18 months old I feel like I am waisting my life and time with her . The last two weeks of my life have been an absolute night mare . I kept waking through the night with a rush of adrenaline and couldn’t go back to sleep as well as numerous other symptoms . I googled a lot - I mean google consumed my life . I couldn’t go to work anymore without a panic attack. I use a Fitbit and my heart rate was always high making me even more anxious as to why . I uncontrollably cried and had massive meltdowns for days on end and could not function in any aspect of my life . I started a new medication and have started to feel better I guess I’m just looking for some similar stories to know I’m not alone .

Re: Health anxiety (hypochondria) sucks
Morning @Shauney
I'm new here too! First of all congratulation!! Im sure your daughter is beautiful, I stuggle with anxiety and OCD on a daily basis. I never really knew what it was until a few years ago when it became out of control.
Only reciently I have discovered a few things that have dramatically reduced my anxiety on a daily basis.
Only by using my body as a mini science experiment, I've tried all types of different things including diet to reduce the anxiety, the first thing I found that dropped it down was removing gluten from my diet. I have an intolerance to gluten and I found that when I ate anything with gluten in it i would get increased heart rate, stressed, anxiety and feelings of anger and frustration. So....cut out gluten for a few days...no anger, no frustration, lower anxiety. This was a big turning point for me, and lost a few Kg too.
Second thing was coffee, I love coffee!! only 1 week ago I quit. I was drinking 4-8 cups per day, I love the high from it but my anxiety and OCD intrusive thoughts were out of control. 1 week with no coffee and my anxiety and OCD has dropped but at least 80% thats a massive change. Not sure how these things play a part in your day but mate its worth a try. I have found that diet and what goes in my mouth has a big effect on my anxiety. I could go on for hours about anxiety and OCD as I live with this crap everyday. Try stay positive!!
Hope you have a great day!! 🙂

Re: Health anxiety (hypochondria) sucks
Thanks so much . It’s reassuring that I’m not alone (unfortunately because I would never wish it upon anyone) . I just cannot get past the fact that I don’t have something wrong with my pancreas even though all the doctors I have seen have said my bloods would show it I have googled so much and it always told me that bloods won’t necessarily show it and that you need a ct scan or mri but the doctors won’t give me one . I just feel like it would be the only way to ease my mind .
I am trying a diet at the moment -low fat to see if that helps with my pancreas......
never thought of if gluten free must try it !
